what size turbo to use?

my firend says that a t3/t4 would be too small for a turbo set up on my sohc.
my stock motor motor can hadle about 8 psi, or is that too much?
does any one know a good manufaturer of good turbo maniolds for under 150, ive seen bad things from obx.

Re: what size turbo to use?

A T3/T4 can support 350 horsepower, it can support 800 horsepower. Don't take any shred of advice from someone who doesn't know that there are thousands of variants of T3/T4's, or someone who says one is too small for your car. Furthermore, boost pressure is irrelevant, because 8 psi on a T25 is totally different from 8 psi on a T3/60-1. No, you arn't going to find a good new turbo mani for under 150 bucks. For a good turbo for your SOHC I would run a T3 .48 A/R with a 60-trim compressor side, on a drag manifold, both of which can be had fairly cheap.

Re: what size turbo to use?

Get a ('88-'95)CX, VX, STD, or HF manifold; buy a adapter flange and there ya go. Lots of people use those manifolds with cheap home made turbo kits. But of course a manifold ment for turbo would be better, but it would be cheaper.

Re: what size turbo to use?

johnnyracecar.com for your intercooler, dont use an fmu, get something electronic, and i doubt you are gonna find a manifold for 150.

Re: what size turbo to use?

check out the faq/forums on hondata.com. all youll ever need to know is there. basicly you need an obd1 ecu which has to be chipped, then using a pc you can tune almost all aspects of your car's engine
