head liner and front clip

how hard is it to put a new head liner in a non t-top 90 rs? or should i just take it to a proffesional to had it done. abd how hard is it to put a new front clip on on a 90 rs?
I have been with out a camaro sense late november and i found a awsome deal on a 90 rs it only has a 3.1 and need like im sure you guessed a new head liner and the front clip is kinda worped, but its mechanical sound and had alot of mods. its got actual dual exhaust with flowmasters and a big dual airram in stead of the stock snorkal tube, it a a sound system, and aside from the head liner the interier is in awesome condition. I also has a newly rebuild tranny and new fuel injectors. Im getting it today for about 1200 so im pretty happy. But i could still use the insight on the headliner and the front clip. Thanks for all your help. Jess

Re: head liner and front clip

a non t top car is the easiest to replace, i advise that you have help so you dont damage the new head liner. and you will need to remove some trim peices and the dome light. as for the nose it will be easy, it may take a little time, there are the bolts in front of the radiator support, the there are some under the front of the car, and also i thing 3 or 4 down each side of the inner front lip of the front fenders. thats a killer deal on the car too jess. good luck on your repairs. if you have any questions feel free to PM me or post you a new thread.

Thanks, i really like it. I pulled the old head liner lastnight and vacuumed off the yellow crap that was falling and took the car out for a little spin to see how fast it is. Its not as fast as my 305 camaro was but its better than my 94 cougar. (looks better too). I did manager to brake a tranny mount last night though which made me sad, because now i have to drive it a bit easier untill i can replace it next saturday(its a money issue) it should be fine i think, if it probobly wont be than let me know. i got a price on the head liner of 80 dollors material and instalation so im gonna have it done and not do it my self. I found a front clip for 50 dollar at a local scrap yard. The color matches perfectly and it has only alittle wear on the very bottom on the nose(which isnt unusual).

my wife and i seperated and i desided to move back to oklahoma and i didnt think that my 91 would make it, it needed a new rear main seal and new clutch and valve stem seals to top off the 210k miles so, i desided to just sell it. i got 3000 for it so i was happy with the sale. The only thing i hate about the tranny mount change is that im a big guy and im clostophobic so crawling under a car is always abit nerve racking for me but i dont want to pay the 65-70 dollors plus the 12 for the part fo some one to spend 20 minutes to fix it. i might pay 20 but not normal shop rates. Re: head liner and front clip

i had to take out the battery on one side, and the charcoal canister and horns from the other side to access the nuts that go down each side where it connects to the fenders, there's also a few in the middle like where the hood latch is. It's a tight fit but if i can do it anyone can.

Re: head liner and front clip

Hmm well I am looking into replacing my headliner, its torn up and worn out, kinda odd.. But I don't have a dome light nor wiring to the mirror lamps. How do I go about hooking up a new domelight, the wiring and where should I look for a headliner?

Self install time & price vs professional install time & price would be appreciated.

it's not really that difficult to do, you just have to be precise with your cuts... but if your unsure of yourself, have a professional do it...as far as where to get everything, im not sure - i've never priced the matterial, i did my friends but he is the one who went and got everything...good luck to ya
