Question changing theft-deterrent alarm modes???

I purchased a 2003 Venture... it came with the keyless system and the "content theft-deterrent alarm" system. I am trying to change the alarm mode from 2 to 3. The user manual instructions are simple enough, but to do this change requires pushing the horn button on the remote. PROBLEM: both remotes that came with the vehicle DON'T HAVE a horn (panic) button!!!

So... is there another process that I may use to change the mode? OR... is there a way to reset this alarm system to factory default settings (which is what I want in the first place!)

Re: changing theft-deterrent alarm modes???

PJ,

A couple of possibilities:

- A friendly dealer may be able to reprogram via their computer tools.
- Get a new remote (or two) from eBay that has the buttons you need (at a reasonable price).

If you WANT the panic button, go for the second option.

PS - Make sure you actually have the anti-theft system (4 chimes when entering programming mode).

Take Care
