Alright...since my dickhead math teacher wants us to do a project on mutual funds...What in the world is it anyway? I kno some of u guys are older than me (Im 16), and i kno u guys have a job. Wat type of mutual fund do u guys have?

A mutual fund is a kind of stock investment. It's where you invest in a mutual fund company, and then they buy and sell stock shares of many other company's on a daily basis, and you merely share in their profits. So a mutual fund is infact a collection of different stock companies. I have stock in Federate (i think that's what it's called) - anyways, it's my Roth IRA. A Roth IRA is a tax-shelter, where any money that you invest is pre-taxed, and then goes in, so that when you withdraw it, you get tons of money - it grows very quickly exponentially.
