1965 Impala/Caprice 327 will trade for *small* FWD manual
i have *done* the big car cruising thing, enjoyed it!, but i want a change... and now i am looking for a small FWD car with a manual trans.
i'm mostly open to suggestions, but no convertibles & i prefer engines that produce good torque at low rpms (below 4500). no pointless spoilers or loud colors, etc., i'm more into sleepers. i love my daily driver '92 SE-R, but it's rusting all to hell and i need a replacement, so my classic '65 Impala is going bye bye to finance this. the Chevy has its original "Danube Blue" paint job. there is some rust, but not a huge amount. it is a dark, rich midnight blue, appearing black at night. it's a 4 door. lots of chrome. it lived in the south until '98 when i bought it at 48,000 miles. it now has about 80,000... lots of highways... i drove it back and forth from Indiana to Wisconsin to Michigan a lot over several summers : D i have mostly only driven it up north here on relatively clean days. avoided salt as much as possible, but had no garage until 2002, so there are some sun cracks in the paintjob. it is the very first year of the luxury Caprice option on the Impala, and the *only* year the Caprice had the classic round tail lights. they are so cool. Impalas 66 and later had the square tail lights. the 327 is the original with the rare "double hump" heads, rebuilt clean up from the block and heads by J&K in Madison Wisconsin. mild performance cam, roller rockers, etc., about 300 hp. has holley 600 4 barrel. original 12 bolt rear posi with 411 gears automatic 700R4 heavy duty transmission w/shift kit on steering column the chevy is listed locally for sale, and i've turned down offers of 6 grand for it. i know that due to it being a 4 door with a bit of rust, i probably won't get more than 8 or 9 grand for it, possibly closer to 7, so don't be shy if you have a trade in mind. i'm not greedy. i want us both to come away happy from the deal. peace. * |
