Re: obd1 or obd2???????

your cps needs to be hooked up. thats why when you do the mpfi swap on 4th gens with jdm b16 motors you need to add wires for the cps. even the jdm motors came with a cps sensor.

yes you can use a obd2 dizzy with your obd1 p28 ecu.

Re: obd1 or obd2???????

you cant see it in the dist. which is why if any sensor goes bad in the dist you gotta replace the whole dist.

you stock harness will have the wires for it already there, the only difference is that the connectors between obd1 and obd2 are different

Re: obd1 or obd2???????

no you dont need to splice, the wires for hte cps are already on your wirign harness because your stock dist uses a cps sensor

so to recap. the obd2 dizzy has a cps sensor and uses it so therefore you stock wiring harness already has the wires for it because your stock ecu uses the cps.

since your using an obd2 dist and you have an obd2 wiring harness. just plug in the wiring harness to the dist and forget about it and watch it work

Re: obd1 or obd2???????

someone has been telling me that my OBD2 dizzy doesnt have CPS in the dizzy so i need to switch to OBD1 because a OBD1 dizzy has the CPS in the dizzy itself. i am confused.

Re: obd1 or obd2???????

i already told you in 4 posts that you can use it. now if you dont believe me then go buy a obd1 dist and give me your obd2 dist because i need to do a obd0-obd1 conversion on my car and i need a dist. then when i do my conversion, ill send you a pic of my car being obd1 and using hte obd2 dist.
