sometimes the car starts no problem, one crank and its gone, others, it wont, doesnt matter temp of engin or outside, its random, i know code 16 is fuel injector, but once runing thers not a single problem or miss... why?? can anybody answer that? theres no muffler on the car, its a punched cat to a tip, and on the times its a bitch to start it will blow smoke bad, otherwise its not burnen oil anymore please help!! btw 89 dx efi

kinda sounds similar to what happened when my main relay was going out. I remember the code 16 and thinkin' wtf..

..I really don't think there's anything wrong with ur injector...I think the reason you get the code 16 is b/c the injector isnt getting any fuel bc the main relay isnt working to turn on the fuel pump when the key is turned.

That had to be the longest run on sentence ever but hope it makes sense. I would say check into it....but I guarentee this is your problem.

ok ill swap out the main relay, but i do hear the fp prime

Hey, its worth a try, and if it doesnt work you can always take it back

I do think its odd that you hear the fp prime tho, cuz I know on mine I couldnt hear it prime, at least when it wasnt starting that is.

yeah, lol sat in the car and the fucken seat mounts broke, i weigh 170 lbs, so its not that i overloaded it, now that it starts up great every time i have to find a bone yard with a drivers side seat and mount lol

yeah, the seat mounts in the 88-89 are weak, those little tabs that bolt it to the floor are too flimsy
