performance air filter question
Just wondering. I know some aftermarket companies say their air filter systems will give you 25 more horses because they have more flow. If this is the case. Why don't I get alot more power when the air cleaner system is completely off?

Because when the air is being sucked directly into the throttle body, its just like an unorganized mass of air. With an intake system consisting of different sizes and lengths of piping, that air becomes straigtened out, charged with power, and moves very quickly. faster and denser airflow means more power.

Re: performance air filter question
oh I see, Isn't that kind of how turbo chargers work? By speeding up the air going into the intake.

Re: performance air filter question
air intakes wont add 25 horses right outta the box on a stock engine, it says it will add UP TO 25 horses but that is normally with a bunch of mods to ur engine they might add a few horses and breath better and a lil better gas mileage but it wont add 25 horses right outta the box

Re: performance air filter question
Yeah, I know that it's bad for it. I only do it when I do an adjustment and go for a quick spin around the block.
