Squealing Brakes

The brakes will squeal for the first few applications after the car has been sitting for an extended period of time (loke several hours). Then, the squealing goes away...until the car sits for a long time again. Took it to the dealership. They did some 'brake maintenance' and the squeal went away...for a time. But now it's back. Any suggestions? It's an '03 ZTW with about 43 000 km's.

Re: Squealing Brakes

Let me guess, it's the back brakes isn't it?

MAKE the dealer change the shoes and drums. I've had two wagons, 2000 SE and 2004 ZTW that did the exact same thing, especially after a rain, and had to force the dealer to change the shoes.

Re: Squealing Brakes

All you have to do is blow them out. If you have an aircompressor just blow the brakes out. It's cause dust and stuff get in there and rests on the pads till you get going on it falls off. That's all I do when my brakes begin to squeak.
