stall?

what exactly does stall mean on a touqe converter?

stall speed is basically how high the converter will allow the engine to spin independantly of hte transmission. what that allows you to do is rev the engine higher than normal when launching from the line, allowing the engine to produce higher levels of torque. when coupled with a transbrake, you can get insanely hard launches with a converter that puts you right on top of your torque curve.

so does this mean that when u are everyday driving u have to have the engine spinin lets say 2500 to move (2500 stall)

It doesn't necisarily go exactly to the stall speed, but yes it will take more gas to get off the line.
