A/C Blowing Hot Air
Our 1998 Blazer LT 4x4 (V6) - is blowing hot air from the vents, not changing with switch position (computer climate control). I have been told that there is a part missing off of the accumulator. I have the following pictures that I took of the accumulator.
I was wondering what parts are missing (if any) and how to fix it. Picture 1: ![]() Picture 2: ![]() Thanks in Advance! |

Re: A/C Blowing Hot Air
That's the low pressure service port. All that is missing is the cap.

Thanks. Do you know where I could get the cap?

Re: A/C Blowing Hot Air
The cap won't restore your cold air. You will need to have the freon checked, may have a leak.

As stated above, get the freon checked. Even with the A/C off, your compressor will run when you turn on your defrosters. I had a compressor freeze up because of low freon, which also contains an oil additive to lube the compressor. With a serpentine belt, you don't want to freeze up your compressor, it will destroy a belt. |

Re: A/C Blowing Hot Air
Look at the compressor if there is an oily look then you have a leak and you will more than likely need to replace the compressor! you will know that it is leaking just by looking at it you will see the dirt built up on the spots where the peg oil is coming out! if you can take a picture of the compressor different angles, unless you find where it is leaking, i do agree it is leaking somewhere, it is just a matter of finding it, check the hoses carefully.

Re: A/C Blowing Hot Air
The mid-body seals on the compressor are common leak points. If it's wet under the compressor, it's bad. Will need to partial charge to test the rest of the system.
