Question Recorded video to PC problems

I have A JVC mini-DV camcorder that I've used to record quite a bit of video. Over the summer I downloaded (not sure that's the right term but oh well) the all of the video to my computer and everything was fine. Then about a month or so ago, 2 of the videos won't play on my computer. So I decided I'll just delete them and re-download from my camcorder...not happening. First it said to make sure that the capturing device was hooked up properly, and it is. So I reinstalled the drivers and it finds the camcorder. But now it says something about a file being corrupted and unusable.... I tried looking for an updated driver from JVC, but they don't even have my camcorder listed anymore. I've also tried downloading the video from 2 different programs; Windows Movie Maker and Ulead VideoStudio Basic 6 SE Basic. Also if it helps any, I'm using a FireWire card with a DV (camcorder end) to FireWire (PC end)cable.

So I'm wondering if anyone has ever had this happen to them. Or if anyone can think of anything that I could do to try and get this working. I've got a couple of burnout videos of my friends and I want to give them a copy. Any help is greatly appreciated. And I'll keep looking around online as well.

Re: Recorded video to PC problems

I'm not actually sure which file is corrupt, it didn't say. But it was when I was trying to download the video to my computer, so maybe it was a temp file or something.
Usually I use WMP to watch the videos, but I also tried quicktime, jetaudio, powerdvd, and realone. The videos won't even play in the video editing programs that I used to download it from the camcorder.
