Why Dodge Why?

i was just browsin throu my usual car sites and found this... http://www.supercars.net/cars/2006@$Dodge@$Charger%20Daytona%20R+Tx.html

i almost puked when i saw it. what a way to ruin the daytona name, and they couldnt of come up with a better spoiler? i still think they should make a 2dr model for us muscle car guys. and for 35k it better be worth it.

Re: Why Dodge Why?

It's just another shot at the 'sucker" market. I have nothing but contempt for new cars because of the expense, lack of style and not being user friendly. They are just transportation to me and hold NO other interest. It's a play on advertisement of trying to make money on new; off the old. I'll take a 50/60's car any day with poor handling and gas guzzling engines that at least I can fix with a handful of tools. They have heart, style, and I can at least recognize which is which from over 50 feet. If it aint got chrome...leave it at home....and BOO to new and keep the old iron rollin.

Re: Why Dodge Why?

true rute, thats why i normally look into older cars, and thats the reason why i bought my tempest, its a simple car you can fix with a few tools. all this new stuff you need computers and other junk. its sad to what cars have come to. like they saw... injection is nice but id rather be blown.

Re: Why Dodge Why?

That 4 door Charger is flat out ugly. All Dodges cars look the same in the front today too. I think thats stupid too. Did you know you can't buy a full size Dodge "B" van anymore. They quit making them. I used to really like Chrysler even when the fenders rotted sitting on the lot. Now I don't. It makes me sick that Daimler is involved in Chrysler because I hate Mercedes and every other Euro car on earth.

Re: Why Dodge Why?

We saw a TV "article"on the R/T version. Now THAT'S more like it! It's 2-door with some nice looks to it. I could do without the big Dodge front mentioned earlier, but all in all, it's a nice looking car. Now, if we could just get some accurate performance data surrounding this baby hemi. I would guess it isn't up to the name, or we would being bombarded with performance numbers. I know Magnum is a good looking car, but a slug in the performance department. If Charger R/T is 500 lbs. lighter than Magnum, they might have something!

Re: Why Dodge Why?

I remember the Korean Pontiac Lemans they had in the 80s too

Just because these companies own the names they think they can slap them on any piece of crap and the nostalgia alone is enough to carry it through.
