2002 Blazer ZR2

Good Morning,

I have a 2002 Blazer ZR2 that has been in the shop a couple of times for a problem they can't find a solution to. When I am going up a hill and turning to the left or right, it feels like the trans shifts into neutral for a moment then back into drive. It really doesn't feel like it effects normal day to day driving, but I just don't want to get stuck in the woods. Any help or ideas would be helpfull.

Thanks,

Jeff

Can you help us out by being more specific, i.e. is the vehicle cold when this happens ? Has the shop been able to retrieve a code ? Does the vehicle smell i.e. burning clutches ? Have you verified you tranny fluid level ? How many miles on the fluid ? the vehicle ? Do you tow with it ? Buy it used or owned since new ?

See what I mean...we on the board need more information to help you...

what kind of shop did you take it to ? Dealer ? Tranny shop ? local mechanic ? Is it under warranty ?

Help us out here and we will see what we can do to help you...

Sorry about the lack of info. I have had it into the dealership twice for the same problem. They tell me that they can not duplicate the problem I am describing even though the tech went with me and I could duplicate it for him(it doesn't seem to matter if it is warm or cold and I don't tow anything with it yet). I have had the ZR2 since it was new, have followed all the recommended fluid change levels and maint. It is now out of warranty. All the fluid levels are fine and there aren't any weird smells etc. One other item I forgot to mention is that when I shift into 4 high and the vehicle is at an angle, there is a noticible thud as it locks into 4 wheel. Don't know if it related, but there you go. Again, I appreciate any help that is sent my way. If I forgot something, let me know.

Thanks,

Jeff

Good information..now let's go a step further...

The feeling of slipping or going into neutral while going up a hill...is this based on some other fact like the tach shooting up on RPM's and/or is it trying to downshift into the previous gear and therby slipping ?

Is there a particular gear relationship/shift to symptom i.e. going from 1-2 or 2-3 or 3-4 or 4 back to 3 ?

Does it ever actually free wheel where you need to raise RPMs very high to get it to shift ?

Some times there are some debris lodged in the valve body plugging bleed orifices , slowing down shift valves etc....but I don't know how the 2002 is different from my 99 4l60e....

Has this just started ? Or has it been manifest by an action like getting your tranny fluid changed at a place where they flush but don't change or clean your filter?

Sometimes debris can get lodged in the shiift selinoids....and slow the down shift down....

I don't know, I am not sure keep providing info and maybe someone else can chime in.....
