Alternator/Dash display/cruise/temperature question
Red battery signal appeared (on & off at first) in the Message Center, but volt meter still showing 14+ volt charge. I understand that this may mean that a diode has failed in the alternator and can be repaired with out completely changing out the alternator.
Weird thing: Why did the transmission gear display go out along with the water temperature guage and cruise control? If the warning goes aways, everthing returns to normal. 2002 Silverado, 88,000mlies, 4X4LT

Maybe a wiring problem that may have nothing to do with the alternator.
