90 YJ won't START in the rain

Whenever it rains my YJ won't start. I've got spark, my cap is dry and I'm getting spark to all plugs, but it won't fire. When it drys up, she starts on two cranks. Possilby the coil?

Could be the coil but a friend of mine has a TJ 98ish I think and she was having trouble getting it started when it rained. Changed the cap & rotor and it fixed it. I'd replace the cap it could have a crack in it and they are cheap.

the next time it rains or gets really humid and damp outside, pull off the cap and clean it good with carb cleaner or wd-40. Then wipe it out good. This will pull all the moisture out of the cap if any. If it cranks after that you know to replace it.

Re: Won't START in the Rain

I had the same problem. Replaced cap and rotor and all was well! Cheep fix!
