Front Wheel Lockup

I have a 2001 LS, 53000 Kilometers and equipped with ABS, . When applying the brakes with some force on dry roads, the front left wheel locks up. Is it a caliper problem or an ABS problem? Anyone have similar problem with their car?
Thanks

On applying the brakes, the front left wheel stops turning and leaves a rubber skid mark on pavement. The ABS does not stop wheel from locking up. Car also pulls to left when applying the brakes. It has nothing to do with steering.

Had the car at the mechanics today and I was told caliper is OK. They suspect the ABS Control Module might be at fault. Anyone else have this part fail and what were the symptoms?
Thanks

I have a 2003 Chevy Impala LS and my brakes are locking up.....was told it was contamination in the fluid and would have to replace the entire brake system to the tune of $3000. I am fighting and would like to see what I can do. Need to contact BBB and go to arbitration...has anyone done this before?

You may have a bad brake hose, they look fine but collapse on the inside. As your cheapest fix, I'd say go for it.

Re: Front Wheel Lockup

Turned out to be a warped rotor. Changed rotors and brakes working perfectly now.
