What is tbc circuit? Battery draw

I'm having a dead battery every 2 days in my '99 s10 truck. I've traced it to a fused circuit labeled tbc. An amp draw of about .63 amps is indicated between the lugs where the fuse plugs in. With the fuse pulled the door ajar alarm and the interior lights are off. Does anyone know what tbc is? With the door closed and all lights off I'm still having a .63 anp draw. There is no glove box light or under the hood light. What else in this tbc circuit could cause a draw of .63 amps. The radio circuit draws .1 amp. So I have a total draw of about 3/4 of an amp.

well, not sure but i'll take a poke at it since no one else has.

i see no fuse marked tbc in wiring diagrams in haynes book. but mine covers 82 - 93.

could it be ***** brake control. as in anitlock brakes ? maybe short in wires to or at wheels ?

Re: What is tbc circuit? Battery draw

Thanks for the reply. When I pull the fuse the interior lights and the door alarm go off. So I don't think the antibreak would be on that circuit, but it could be. I noticed when I shut the motor off the dome light dimms a little. I think I read that that could mean a bad diode in the alternator. Thats the next thing I'm going to check. As it is now every other day I just start it up and run it around the block.

Have you had the battery itself tested? Could have a couple of bad plates. (Just a thought)

TBC is Throttle Body Control. chek for a loose wire around the fuel injectors

Question Re: What is tbc circuit? Battery draw

i have the same problem. 1999 s-10 blazer. battery goes dead in 2 days. i put a ammeter on the battery and it draws 350ma (after everything goes into sleep mode).

i pull the TBC fuse (truck body computer) and the draw goes away (it drops to about 18ma, which is normal).

i replaced the battery yesterday with a brand new one-- still have the same problem.

did anyone every solve this problem? it sounds like it's something that happens frequently.

thanks!

I'd suggest you start a new thread here, this is way too old.
