Lightbulb Turning an 89 Accord into a 96 Thunderbird lol

So I have been taking my t bird apart for the last week, getting ready to say goodbye to it as it gets towed to a junkyard. (It about makes me cry). So anyways, I am gong to be moving back to Hawaii, and won't be able to afford another T Bird right away. I am gonna be buying my friend's 89 Accord for 300$. I have been taking out all the useful stuff from my car, and plan to transplant it all into the Honda. I am going to have to learn a lot more about the T Bird to make this work. I have removed the sunroof motor, along with all the wires for it, the switch, and the overhead lights, and switch mount, and bracket, and want to install all of that into the accord somehow. I don't know what I will use the motor for, but I can keep it aside until I think of something. I have also removed the light sensor from my car, and plan on hooking it up to the accord's headlights. I don't know how to do this yet. I will have to learn the schematics of the t bird so I can know what I should hook the wires up to in the honda. I think it will be pretty neat though when the 89 Honda's flip up headlights flip down and off automatically. Im basically taking everything useful off the t bird, with intent on installing it all in the honda (even my rearview mirror). I want it to be my t bird lol. I am going to take a course in fiberglass with the money I get from my car, ($5,000) and then I have a job lined up at a shop owned by a friend of mine. I asked him if he would be interested in a fiberglasser/installer, and he said definitely. I should at least be making 15$/hour with him. With my newfound fiberglassing skills, I plan to overhaul the honda's interior and have all the familiar luxuries from "RICKS 96". I may have to come back with all kinds of questions. The main thing will be the automatic lights sensor. Does anybody know what all is involved with that, and what all I will need to take from my car? I seriously plan on spending a lot of time doing this so if its hard I don't care. If its possible, Im doing it. Any advice about that, that anyone has to offer, I would appreciate it. When I get into the other stuff later on, I will ask more. Thanks,

Rick

Rick STOP!!!!! Only Pimp my ride does this.!!!

Rick I know about electrical and I tell you Your going to be in for alot of heartache. You will have to dismantle alot of the Honda to get to the wiring. What you want will not only be hard but if you mess up people will bag on you daily.

Pimp my ride the Tv show did this once. They turned a ford escort into a BMW They did alot of cutting welding and custom electrical. And it took awhile. They have at least 7 men trained in this doing that job.
Plus it was expensive.

Wait awhile and save you'll get a new bird. But if you cant wait do like I did. Take a little money every so often and try your luck at the lottery or Casino. I won 12 grand and it took me only 14 bucks till I hit it.

Re: Turning an 89 Accord into a 96 Thunderbird lol

Yeah, I remember that story. Wheres my six pack lol? Naw, the main thing I really wanna do is hook up the auto lights sensor. Hooking up the switch for the overhead lights will be a sinch. I don't plan to make the interior look like a T Bird, I just mean that I want it to have all the familiarities possible. Auto lights, overhead light switch, and a few other random things that don't require much knowledge at all to do. I was kind of exxagerating about "turning it into a T Bird"... When I was taking the stuff out of my car, I thought to myself, "Im gonna end up making that Honda a Ford Thunderbird" and I laughed to myself.

How hard do you really think it would be to give it auto lights? It seems I could just hook up the components if I know the electrical system.

You will probably need wirring diagrams for both the tbird and the honda. If you have any questions you know you can come here can we will help out as much as we can. By the way I almost have a degree in electronics so maybe I can help you out.

Good luck and again sorry about the bird.

Re: Turning an 89 Accord into a 96 Thunderbird lol

cool man, thanks for the offer. What I really need to know right now, is what all do I have to take from the bird? I have the sensor out, but what else do I need to take to make the auto lights work?
