compact sport coupes

id like to compare these fwd cars in overall performance. i guess you could also have some modifications, like under 500 in mods. maybe a little more money for the se-r, since it has the least power.

92-93 acura integra gsr
92-95 vw corrado vr6
92-96 honda prelude si
93-97 ford probe gt
95-97 nissan sentra se-r

basically any car thats not too far off in performance, similar in price, no turbo, and fwd. u can add cars that you feel can compete in this cetegory.

Re: compact sport coupes

I kind of like the Preludes. I know several people who own them, and they're pretty fast stock, but don't really respond well to mods.

Re: compact sport coupes

The GSR has the most potential and is probably the quickest...but to be different you could choose the Corrado...I think it looks better IMHO

Re: compact sport coupes

The Celica should be in here, even though it's not that fast in stock form. The Chevy Cavalier Z24 should be up there too.

This is a pretty popular segment with a lot of great entries from the late 90's. My favorite would have to be the 3rd gen. Acura Integra. It's too bad that they are way more expensive than the rest of the sport compacts, they get stolen left and right, and they have a pretty bad reputation among car enthusiasts. The Prelude isn't much different. For these reasons, I'd probably go with a 95-98 Nissan 200SX SE-R. The aftermarket is growing pretty quickly for these things. They're cheap, reliable, and great sleepers.

the fastest car there probrably that 92-93 GSR. but remember nissan speeder, those are the B17 powered 2nd gen tegs, not the B18 powered 3rd gens. i'm not sure what the aftermarket for those cars are since they are quit rare.

i honestly think the SE-R is the best bang for the buck. they come with a LSD stock, weight as much as the GS-R if not less, and you have the SR20DET from the pular gtir swap ready.

Why only NA and FWD? What is "compact"?

VW Corrado, it actually has some character, Plus, you don't see one every 5 minutes.

i was just looking at cars for sale online, im not really looking to get anything right now. i thought it would of been interesting to compare cars in this class, cause if i were to get a beater, it would probably be something like the cars i mentioned.

My thoughts exactly. The ITR has one of the best handling FWD chassis out there and they are solid performers with an awesome aftermarket. I really like the Corrado and the SE-R but the later Probe GT isn't even on the same page as the other cars.

Nope, we call the Type R the Type R. The GS-R is the Japanese model SiR, with 8 less horsepower.
