63 Tranny Removal
Me and some buddies are having trouble removing the tranny out of my '63 Bel Air with a 230 straight 6. Is it easier to remove the trans with or without the engine? and how do you take the driveshaft out of the tranny?? any help is wonderful! Thanks!

If you don't need the engine out for repairs, just pull the trans. The driveshaft should just slid off the back of the trans, it a spline and yoke. If it's an auto remove dust cover and then bolts from flex plate to torque converter. If it's a cast iron trans it will be heavy, becareful! Have jack stands and block rear wheels. You might also need to jacks one for the trans and one to support the rear of the engine when you lower it to remove trans.
