Nissan Sentra 1988 - turn signals unreliable.
Could someone tell me how to make my turn signals work reliably? My car (nissan Sentra 1988) was just worked on after it had been sitting in someone else's driveway for a few years and now it works fine except for the turn signals not working reliably. After a lot of fidgeting yesterday I got the turn signals to work but today they just don't seem to want to work. Any help would be appreciated - would I need to replace a relay or two and how do I do it? Would I need to remove the dashboard to do it? I am good at soldering and relatively good with mechanical things. Thanks!

Re: Nissan Sentra 1988 - turn signals unreliable.
well check for shorts first. that and if the bulb is seated nicely/properly in the socet. follow from the bulb all the way back to the relay/switch. if no shorts are found try running new wire as there may be an internal break in the wire. if that doesnt work then look up where the relay is for turn signals in a mentance book. replace the relay. if that doesnt work then all i can say is put left arm out window. straight out for left turn and out and up for a right turn. lol.

I would suggest getting a wiring diagram for your vehicle and then start at whatever is easiest to get to. Other than that the arm thing might work too.
