2001 astro stereo static

This winter I was getting a lost of static on may stereo. It drove me nuts, I re-wired it, added noice filters, added grounds, and more. One day I noticed it was coming from the fuel pump. I looked under to look at the fuel tank and noticed a lot of road dirt, sand, and salt all around the top of the tank. I power washed the top of the tank to see what kind of job it may be to change the pump. Well I found that all the dirt, sand, and salt was the problem, after washing it off it worked find. No more static. All that wet sand, dirt, and salt was shorting it out.
