1992 F150 starting problems
Hi,
I have a problem with my '92 F-150, it will start up and run all day, until you either shut it off, or shift into reverse. Once you do one of these 2 things, it won't start again for like 24 hours. It has compression, spark, gets fuel, and air. When it runs, it runs perfect, but once it stops, it won't do anything but turnover. It has a 5.0 liter V8, dual tanks, and most all of the options, except 4 wheel drive. Please give me any info you know. Thanks |

I've already replaced the distributor, the pickup coil, the ignition coil, and the little fuel injection module, (the eec I think?).
The stater will turn the engine over until the battery dies, if you want. Please give me some help. |

thanks,
but I've figured out how to start it, you have to push the pedal all the way to the floor, and crank it over for a couple seconds, and it will start. If you have an ideas pertaining to this problem, please let me know. thanks |

Re: 1992 F150 starting problems
Pushing the pedal (gas I'm assuming) to the floor and then starting your truck tells the computer to shut off the fuel pump(s) until it starts. This is the procedure to clear a flooded engine so I wonder if you have a few leaking injectors flooding your engine.
