cool cans and cooling fuel

I have a question about the use of cool cans and cooling your fuel delivery. How much difference does this make on your performance of your motor? We run a 2 barrel holley carb in a hobby stock class using aviation fuel. The rule is that you have to run a pump fuel, ie. reg , aviation, racing. Would the use of a cool can improve the fuel system? We have been told that this is a good idea,but nobody can tell us why this would help. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I was told that the people on this site are quite knowledgable on matters like this.

Well from what I know, I'd say cooler fuel would deffinately run better / help make more power. Cooler liquids are denser. So if you cool your fuel, it would allow you to fit more in the same spot = more power. Cooler temperatures would also allow your fuel pump to run better.

I've never experimented with fuel cooling, so you should probably wait for someone else with more experience to reply. LoL but that's just my 2 cents.

The cool can is intended to prevent vapor lock in the fuel system. The fuel must remain liquid until it is vaporized in the carb. venturis, or flow will be obstructed. Not a bad idea on a race car.
