exhaust question

i am having nothing but problems with this engine swap, the problem i have now is that the stock exhaust manifolds that were on the 92 305 tbi wont bolt up to the old style engine, the drivers side did but then i wouldnt have been able to use the dipstick tube, the passanger side wouldnt even line up at all, my questions is that will the flowtech headers i am going to end up having to buy bolt up???, its says they are 82-92 but the 82 would have been a completley differnt design then the 92. so.............. will the work on the old engine i am putting in????

please help as i am really confused right now, dont want to buy the headers until i know mfor sure

My hooker shorty headers bolted up just fine and they fit the original "y" pipe that was on the car.
