Ignition switch locked up.

1999 Jimmy-Ignition switch locked in off position! Whats wrong? Tried moving shift lever and rocking steering wheel pushing brake. Nothing works. Security light is flashing.

Do you have one of the keys with the chip in it? Or do you just have a regular key?

Happen to me twice with my 98 \jimmy. fortunately both times it was covered under the warrenty. My key would get stuck in the switch and i could not turn ignition switch all the way off . Dealer told me there was a swich or relay that would not let the ing switch work. It was only a 60.00 fix. I sold the car and don't have the paper work on the fix anymore or i could look up a part they changed.

it is the steering wheel lock sticking forward. it happened to me before you drill out the lock, cut the lock shaft in half and pull the shaft and spring out. no lock now, but no problems. the lock cylinder will not come out the way the book says because you can't turn the key
