Load leveller compressor/rear access. socket

My 2004 Montana has the load levelling option so it has a small electric compressor at the left rear corner. I just realized that I hadn't heard the compressor kick in and do its levelling thing for a while so I investigated; when I press the switch for the inflator, nuthin! So I checked for power at the adjacent accessory power plug, nuthin either! So I got the book out and found the fuse and switched it for a fuse known to be OK but still nothing. Any ideas?

Warranty

Since this is a 2004, does it have any warranty left? If it does, the dealer will fix your problem.

Re: Load leveller compressor/rear access. socket

check the little lever under the van to be sure it has not broken - it turns the compressor on and off

Re: Load leveller compressor/rear access. socket

Check the wire harness, it should be accessable from under the van right below the comperssor, make sure it hasn't come un-plugged. If that's ok check the wires that lead to the compressor with a test light there should be a constant "hot" lead for the load leveler. If you have power then chances are the motor itself is shot. Good Luck. Let me know if you have any other questions.

When i purchased my 2000 Montana the pump was not working in any mode. The left rear shock had a bad air bag. I figured the pump was run to death.
The inflator pump has a relay mounted to the rear side of it. it is easy to find as the leads from the motor plug into it. Check the Relay. On my 2000 Montana the pump was not at fault, it was the relay.
The relay is a dealer only item. Cost was around $60.00 and took a few minutes to replace with no tools.
