96 Blazer Starting Problems

I have a 96 Blazer that I have had nothing problems with since day one. The current problem is that it won't start. Was running fine for me on Friday afternoon. I was on my way home, stopped at a light and it just died and wouldn't restart. Battery is fairly new(about 8 months) and alternator is brand new(a month and a half). It is turning, but not catching. My boyfriend thought that maybe it was the coil packs, but then it did start for a short while yesterday, I left it running for 5 or 10 minutes and then it died again. I also seem to be having a problem with anti-freeze, leaking all over. It is definitely leaking under the car, but seems to be leaking out on the engine as well. I am looking to get rid of it soon, but in the mean time I need it running as I drive 100+ miles a day for my work. Any suggestions on what this may be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like something is overheating. Could be ignition module, coil, or fuel pump. You will need to check when it's not starting. What's missing, fuel or spark?

If you see coolant leaking on top of the motor, it's probably coming from a hose, thermostat gasket, or the intake manifold gasket.

Check fuel pressure.

Check for spark when it dies.

Thanks guys. It turned out to be a hose. I was able to get it started and it ran long enough this afternoon for us to see that anti-freeze was shooting out of the hose all over the place and shorting everything out. Glad it was something simple and I didn't have to hand more money over to the mechanic. Thanks again.

Best to take something away from this and that is to start maintaining the engine.

How about a tuneup?
