I'm currently undergoing a head gasket replacement on my 93 ford taurus. Upon taking the first head off I noticed that one of the piston heads was shinny clean. I'm thinking this was the cylinder where my head gasket failed.
OK 2 questions 1) Would a coolent leak into the cumbustion chamber cause the piston to be clean? 2) If this is the head gasket that needs to be replaced would I be able to get away with just changing the one gasket or do I have to change them both? |

Re: changing a 93 taurus head gasket 3.8
I am not a mechanic but I would probably replace both just because of the head gasket problem on the 3.8's. How many miles does your car have?
