1994 gc car problem

ok this happend yesterday afternoon. i was coming out of school and got into my jeep. i started it up and noticed it was idling harder then usual. when you hear the dash rattling there is a problem. i thought the timing was off on the car. but i have not done any modifications and it was fine that morning. it wont stop idling hard when i drive i barly putt and it shakes the wole car i mean it feels like its about to shake a door off. what the hell!!!!!??? any how i put on a free flow air filter a month ago. could that be the problem? but it was a month ago so nothing could be wrong and if it was doing this then i would have put the stock air box back on. can anyone tell me what is going on?

Re: 1994 gc car problem

I don't think the Air filter has anything to do with your rough running engine. to start, Plugs and wires. Throttle Body Cleaning, Check the PCV Valve and/or CCV/Crankcase inlet filter (depending on engine) Cap & Rotor.

Pull the Cap & Rotor, Plugs foul Corrosion/build-up, check the PCV/CCV/CrankCase Breather make sure there not clogged, may just be better of to replace - their not that expensive, replace the Plugs and wires if not done soo recently. and a Good thorough throttle Body cleaning will help as well.

May also want to check/replace the Fuel Filter.

To check the fuel filter remove it, and blow through it (in the direction the fuel flows) if there is alot of resistance then replace.
