I am getting ready to buy a 90 MK3, but it needs the rod bearing replaced. I am wondering how difficult this is going to be and if there are any short cuts to get it done that I can do myself. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Rod Bearing Question
ur going to have to pull the motor, all though rod bearings are fairly easy to replace if u have good mechanical knowledge if the guy has driven for any period of time on them he might have jacked up the crank as well or possibly some more damage... Go for it buy it pull the motor check everything replace the bearing(s). if things are jacked up order a jdm and do a mild rebuild on it... refresh it with new bearings get the head a block lapped and get a MHG...
