Course Race Challenge

What's up everyone? Asyou may or may not know, this is the second thread I've started on this forum. But the reason for this thread is because two weeks ago, I accepted a challenge from a fellwo racing student. The challenger is driving a '04 Mustang Cobra and from what my friend is telling me, it seems that he has quite the advantage over me. Now, if this was a quatre mile race, I can see where'd I'd be creamed. However, since it's a random constructed course. So neither one of us will really have the advantage. But why do I get the feeling that I've opened Pandora's box, and that this will lead to more challenges? But I've come to realize, it's not the car, it's the driver. Or is it? Who knows? Well anyway, This thread's here for everyone's feedback. Please send me your oinions on the issue.

Re: Course Race Challenge

His profile says 91 Geo Storm. You must have something pretty special under the hood of that storm to think you can take a Cobra .

Plus, Killah, he doesn't know the course. It's a constructed course. But if you do have something other than the storm, post pics. I want to see what you've got on your hands to take on a Cobra. L8...

Re: Course Race Challenge

If it's a really tight AutoX course, I don't see why the Geo couldn't win.

Re: Course Race Challenge

i'd still put my money on the Cobra unless the geo had some serious suspenison modifications and the cobra driver wasnt all too experenced.

only if it's an auto-X type course though would he have a chance (aka NO straightaways)

Re: Course Race Challenge

Yeah but drivers being nearly equal stock v stock the Cobra would kill. at least its suspension is performance oriented for everyday driving performance and road courses where as the geo is set up for comfert. 95hp is about right for a good little 2500lb autoxer but FWD v RWD isnt ideal. if this guy is a noob and you are a seasoned driver and it turned out to be course that looks like it was layed out to resemble a plate of spagetti, however, id even say put some cash on it.

Re: Course Race Challenge

If theres even the slightest almost possible straightaway..it doesn't matter how 'good' the guy did in his geo...the cobra would just have to nudge the gas and pull him back.

Well a lot of the time it is, but a Geo anything beating a Cobra has the same chance as Frosty the Snowman has of lasting 5 minutes in hell.
