Don't kill me!!
hey guys, i shouldn't even be in this worthy part of the forum. i am a honda civic (vtec woot woot) owner and i'm looking into getting either a 180 or 240sx. i want rwd import (honda doesn't make anything other than the s2000 and i wont buy a mazda) but i need to do some home work. what are the main differences between a 180 and a 240, which one comes with a cvvt? please explain the engines, options and models. i want to know everything about these cars. i wont be doing a swap. i need to get on this because there is a rx-7 rolling around spokane that i want to toast. on my 125hp civic i have intake/exhaust, rims/tires and lights/wing..........fast enough to push sentra's around. and as far as handeling, i love the civics sharp handeling, is the 240/180 in the same ball park? thanks guys for helping me out!

before suislide closes this thread, you should think about reading the faq. every one of your questions is answered there. did you not think about that?

ummm, arent you in washington? me 2. And i doubt you'll ever get a 180sx legel in the states. The 180sx has a 1.8litre dual overhead cam, electronically fuel injected, turbo charged. Hence the 180sx having a [CA18DET]. This also is the reason for the number, 180sx is the 1.8 in the engine, get it? So, with this info, take a guess what the 240sx has?? of course it has a 2.4litre dual overhead cam, electronically fuel injected, NON-turbo engine. In the USDM versions of the silvia, we were only available with this, the KA24(D)E. I put the qoutes around the D because from 89-90 they had only single cam engines. Hope this info helps. FC's aren't as potent as the FD's. they ahve 1000whp FD's also, however they are from triple turbo charged 20B tri rotor engines swapped in.
stock wise a RX-7 TT can run a mid 13. they take mods well, the only problem is with the fuel management. you need to get either a ECU reflash or a power FC before you can really crank up the power or else you'll blow those engines quick. i went to one of my friends RX-7 meets. they got two there with very nice V- mount intercooler setups, and two of them made over 400whp. one on stock turbos, one on a large single turbo upgrade.

I think the FD is more in the $30k sports car territory, such as 300zx, 350z, Supras, C5 Vettes, M3, Evo, STi and so on. maybe even Eclipse GSX, i've seen a vid of one smokin a 750hp Supra.
240s are more the lower level of the power playing field. such as MAYBE FC's (cuz they can be monster's too, possibly in that upper level), turbo MR2's, Celica GT-S, Eclipse GST, V6 Stang's these days its kinda hard to honestly compare cars cuz mods can be taken to new heights in different aspects of each car. but still, comparing a 240 to FD isnt too fair. its like compraing Sammy Sosa to Mark McGwire, McGwire got more steroids therefore he's bigger and badder. but you know, when i honestly think about it, what other budget RWD sports car do we have to compete with? i can't think of any.

The FC is a budget RWD car, besides, MKIV TT Supras run like 35grand here, TT FDs are like 18, and TT Z32s are likes 20, so those aren't Supra status. And M3s (late model) are like 60-70 used so......
