1990 tercel kick down cable adjustment?
My wife has a 90 tercel, and just won't shift right. Any tips for adjusting the kick down cable. Thx

Re: 1990 tercel kick down cable adjustment?
First of all, check the deflection of your TV (Throttle valve) cable. I think there should be about 1.4 inch of deflection. If there's too much slack, it definitely won't shift properly.
These cars have problematic carbs... I've been fighting with the gf's 90 for a while now. Runs like a charm now but hard on gas in the city. Hwy is great tho. |

whoops, that should be 1/4 inch, not 1.4 inch.
Sorry. |
