Finished: 1969 Charger, Veyron and Mach1_2003 collaboration project.

This is the Revell Pro Modeler '69 Charger, I started this kit about 6 years ago...had 98% of it painted and the body polished then I lost interest in it. I asked Eric(Mach1_2003) if he wanted to finish it and he did.... so here it is.

It's box stock except for engine wiring and BMF which Eric did a fabulous job with, as well as the final assembly. He had to lower the front suspension a bit to get the car sitting right. I painted it with MCW #2153 lacquer and polished it with no clear coat. To get the vinyl roof look I sprayed unthinned Tamiya XF1 flat black through the air brush.

The interior is black with the proper woodgrain and BMF finishes. The car turned out really nice...wouldn't you know the worst part of the whole deal is the kit decals, the rear black stripe looks like it's vinyl too.

Shame about the decal. Otherwise it looks incredible.

Looks good. I guess a painted on stripe would have been better. Love this car, although would prefer a 68. You guys do good work together.

Wow, looks great. The paint still looks wet. I really like the vinyl roof. Nice collaboration...

Nice results from both of you. Looks really good. I'd bet Veyron has a couple hundred kits he started and set aside.

hey, great job on the Charger--i did one exactly like it 2 years ago for my brother-in-law (a real Mopar nut). I took the chance and clearcoated after putting on the R/T stripe, with Tamiya lacquer, which smoothed it out but damaged the edges. Yeah, the decals suck. I have to say the foiling is really good.

Thanks all!

I have used Faux Fabrix mostlly for carpet simulation, I think it's a bit too rough for a vinyl roof.

True, and isn't the roof on this kit already molded w/vinyl texture?
