Code Number P1443
Just had my 1997 'Bird fail inspection due to the P1443 code. This is "Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Malfunction". I have checked a few search engines but most info is pretty vague. It could be anything from cracked or kinked lines upto and including a bad valve. Anyone know what the cause "normally" is and what can be checked without all the sexy equipment the dealers and ASE's have?
