Re: boost leak?
a boost leak is where the turbo is losing boost because there is a leak somewhere. They can be caused by several things. The most common that happen are when there is a vacum line not hooked up somewhere. The best way if you have that problem is to check and make sure your hoses are tight and check the gauge.

Re: boost leak?
Exactly, you will have unusually low vaccume on a good boost gauge. Also don't forget your plastic IC pipes and rubber connectors that can easily split and leak are getting very old now. It's pretty much basic maintanence to replace them, might as well upgrade at the same time. Finding boost leaks can be tricky sometimes depending on where the leak is of coarse. A can of starting fluid sprayed around where you think it's leaking will tell you when the engine changes (at idle) from sucking in the spray.
