Code 25 PCV Valve or Idle Air Control Valve

I have a 95 Dodge Neon and the engine light is on and the code when I do the turn key thing comes up 25. When I unhook the battery and hook it back up the car will run fine with no lite. Then after a bit and I stop it will come on. Then from there when I speed up through every gear there is only a certian rpm i can go to then it will sputter and jerk and then ill shift till it does it in that gear. Any ideas on how to fix it i got a new Idle air control sensor for it today. Replaced pcv hoses and pcv valve. Any help thanks.

sounds like you may have weak plug wires, when was the last time you replaced plugs and wires...also did you need directions on installing the iac...let me know just did one...really straight foward but when your have the TB off make sure you clean the heck out of it with injection cleaner...

Re: Code 25 PCV Valve or Idle Air Control Valve

I had the same problem. Check the small z-shaped rubber hose at the throttle body. It's connected to the air pump which is on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Mine was leaking causing the selenoid on the air pump to "click". I repalced the hose, and the code is gone.

Hey thank you both. I was found out what was wrong. I replaced all the pcv hoses and put new clamps didnt work. Bought new IAT sensor that didnt work. So was getting really frustrated and then finially got smart and relized i was looking over and not paying attion to the Evaperative thinggy thing thing. And sure enough there was a crack in the rubber part that hold it on. Put a new clam on that and reset the computer and no code yet. Even let it sit for like ten minutes at idle and never came back on. Before i could let it idle for like two minutes and it would turn back on. If it goes wrong agian ill be sure to let everyone know. thanks everyone.

I have replaced the IAC Sensor and have replaced and clamped most of the vaccum hoses. The Code still comes up after reset on computer. It will come on after about four minutes of idle. I did like rev high sometimes to when i would stop but has yet to do it agian so far.

Re: Code 25 PCV Valve or Idle Air Control Valve

I Checked the EGR today and it was loose and missing a bolt. I put a new one in and tightend the other bolt. Now car runs great agian. If you have the rev and jerking problem you might want to check this out.

Im not sure on your car cause i have a 95 model. but the iac should be on the throttle body the sensor that is rounded is the IAC. The EGR is this like blow off valve looking thing mine is right there on right side of the motor looking in to engine bay. Good luck and sorry couldent hlep you there much. If you have hayes manual look in there. Hope this helps.
