Re: hondas in snow

I live right in the center of NY state, I've got a '94 Cx (2044lbs). Unfortunately I'm too lazy and cheap to get snow tires so I've got my stock all seasons on there. The driving's not horrible, but it's definently not that great. Though I've been in my friends civics with snow tires on and he can haul ass with no problem. So I'd suggest to jsut make sure you've got a good set of snow tires and you should be fine. Also I've heard PA doesn't use salt on their highways (maybe roads in general?).

I live in MT and drive my crx in the snow almost everyday..on some fairly bald all season tires, lol. I've never slid off the road or lost control or anything..just gotta be careful and you'll be fine.

Re: hondas in snow

Yeah, I live in VA and had no problems getting around in the stuff. I too got all season tires on and it went better than what I ever expected it to do. I never once got stuck or lost control of it and I actually tried a few times to just spin tires for the hell of it.

Re: hondas in snow

just dont try lowpro's on snow and ice. at the start of winter, there was just a massive snowfall and i had my 16's on still, i had zero traction. i got stuck on the street where i live cuz theres a slight upward slope to it.
i have winters on now and i love em, no problems here.. and this is from your great white neighbor to the north, its pretty intense weather up here in northern SK.

so is ours. studed tires rule our civic makes it up and down our hill...a hill which caused our old neighbors to move. they couldn't get their outback or explorer up, they had to park at the bottom and walk up

the other day we were getting gas, the lady pumping the gas says "your car is low" jer's reply "actually, it's raised for the winter"...it took her a moment to compute what he said

Re: hondas in snow

What are you guys talking about - I run 205/40R17's all year around - I live in Idaho. Never had a problem on any of the mountain passes or anything.

CZ-R here...reporting live from the frozen tundra - AKA North Dakota...

I'll pretty much second everything that people have said about driving in the snow or on the ice. Basically just make sure you have a good set of tires (they don't have to be studded, but they definitely work better).

Just take your time & don't get over confident! That's how all the 4x4's around here end up upside down in the ditch

Re: hondas in snow

Uhhh.. I used to drive my lowered Civy year round here in Kanada.

Just make sure that you're not still using summer rubber (wich would be stupid) and you'll be good. I found with my motor I kinda need winter tires, but if you get less snow than me (which is likley) you'll be okay with all seasons.
