anyone have braking problems

I have a 2004 GP GT, and im feeling some braking problems. There seems to be very little pressure. When I first hit the brakes, it would feel fine. But then afterwards the pedal would just drop to the ground. My brother had the car for a while and this is the first time that i driven it since a couple of months. My brother goes to school in upstate NY (very cold), anyone thinks the cold would have an affect. What could be the problem?

I want to go the dealership, but am afraid to drive it. I live in Brooklyn and the dealer where i bought it is about 26 miles away. The nearest dealer is less then a mile away, but i would have to wait atleast 2 months for those bastards. If I tow it htere think they will reimburst me? And should i tow it, hear its bad for the cars.

Re: anyone have braking problems

Have you checked the brake fluid level? Possible leak or the master cylinder may be failing. Should be able to have it towed in under warranty if unsafe to drive. Have it towed on a flat bed.

Re: anyone have braking problems

Sounds like air in brake lines.
You should be able to get dealer to tow. It's a safety thing. Call them and see if they will tow for free.

I just read in the news that GM has a recall out on the 94 GP's for a brake problem due to the brake pedal not working properly in extremely cold tempuratures, requiring more braking. So if this is your problem, you have a free fix from the dealer. Hope this helps you.
