Forerunner question
I am having some tranny problems in a 90 forerunner with auto trans. My vehicle has about 270 000 Kilometers and these transmissions are hard to find. Some people say to goto a 5 spd. I found a 93 Toyota SR5 exteneded cad thats been rolled. It has a 3.0 liter and a 5 spd in it. How hard would it be to have someone change over the moter and trans and trasfer case? The truck drive train is mint with lower miles on it. The motor should be able to go in it shouldn't it? thanks for any info..cheers, Mark

Re: Forerunner question
Well what motor do you have now?
ALL the wiring in the engine compartment and ECU have to stay with the motor, all the "fender mounted" hardware has to stay with the motor also. speedometer head guages. A "motor swap" is a lot more complicated with the ECU controlled trucks. But it can and is done all the time. |
