Third gen wheels...

just wanted to know if anyone knows the largest width wheels you can fit in the back of a third gen camaro w/out any rubbage. and how wide can i get the front wheels and still be safe? does anyone know? or if not, how big are the wheels u put on ur car and are not rubbing?

i'm asking this because i have dreams of putting 17 by 11s in the back and 17 by 10s up front... but at the same time i'm pretty sure that those would be too wide and i would have major rubbing problems...

Didn't 89 post something a while back about the largest dimension you could fit on 3rd and 4th gens?. I wish I could answer but I have never been too big on rims myself. I will try and find the thread though but in the mean time maybe he will show himself around here.

i got them 17x9.5's for the rear of my rs. 17x8's up front but havent put them on yet

if you got spacers you will be able to 11's in the back

i looked... i never found nething... i'm wanting big rims for traction handling and for bigger brakes, not all for looks... but of course if i'm gonna get them i'm gonna get good looking ones

will they stick out from the rear fender flare? cuz i can't stand the look of wheels that stick outside the fender...

but as far as I know 17x9.5 is the widest you can fit without modifying the wheel well.

does anyone know how big of a rim i can put on the back of my car w/out mods? i forgot to mention i don't have a stock third gen rear, i have forth gen rear axle... here is what stock rims look like on my different axle...

i'm not talkin bout going farther out... if i put 4th gen wheels on it they are actually farther in because the 3rd gen wheels stick out from the hub a whole lot more than 4th gen. i was just wondering how wide of rims can i fit on my 3rd gen w/ a 4th gen rear axle, w/out mods?
