2000 Buick Regal computer

I have a problem with the "service engine soon" and "air bag" lights. After my battery "died" I had someone give me a jump start. Immediately afterward the 2 lights came on. We have tried disconnecting the battery cables overnight on several occasions, but no luck. I took it to my mechanic, he put it on his diagnostic machine and said there was nothing he could do. The car's computers weren't "talking" to one another and he said I would have to have it re-programmed at the dealership. This is a last resort! Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks!

Unplug the PCM/ECM fuse in the fusebox to reset the PCM. Drive the car normally for a couple of days while it relearns.

Re: 2000 Buick Regal computer

Reprogramming your computer will not solve your problem. You have a comm problem that needs to be fixed so the computers can takl to each other.

Did your mechanic give you any codes stored? If he did that would be helpful in fixing your problems.
