Fuel pump?

!999 Dodge Intrepid 3.2 117,000

After driving on the highway for an hour or so the engine statrts sputtering and dies.. After it sits for 10 minutes it will start, but runs very rough. After it sits for an hour, it will start and run fine. Error codes 0171 and 0174.

Runs fine around town.

Any help?

Re: Fuel pump?

Codes: Front Bank & Rear Bank running rich/lean. Since the engine dies, it sounds like a lean mixture...fuel delivery problem. Maybe a fuel filter. It wouldn't hurt to do a fuel pressure check.

Re: Fuel pump?

I agree with Alvin, if your pressures not between 44 to 55 PSI, you could have a bad regulator, or a bad injector.
