Re: clutch problems yall

After doing what gthompson recomened, take a look at the clutch. If its equally touch in all gears when running, most likely the clutch. Could just be a bleeding/adjustment issue. If its one or two specific gears, could still be the clutch, but could then also be the synchros for those gears.

Re: clutch problems yall

yeah having your car in your sig would help us a lot....as for the problem you're having, like 95 GSXRacer said it could be something as simple as an adjustment or bleeding....if either of those don't work, a new slave cylinder might be necessary. if that doesn't work, then my guess would be the clutch isn't disengaging completely. or the tranny could have a problem. if the clutch isn't disengaging completely it's probably a bad t/o bearing....does it make any noises when you stick it in reverse? try doing this......start the car, push the clutch in and leave it in for a good 20seconds, maybe a little longer...throw it in reverse. if it grinds, you have a problem. waiting those 20 seconds or so is called clutch spin down time. also, try the same thing, but with first gear. if it were a bad t/o bearing, the car would probably start to move forward a little as soon as you put it in first gear because the clutch isn't disengaged all the way, which would also probably cause the sound you are hearing. as for when your car is off, that has nothing to do with anything. the motor is off, so nothing is moving and you won't hear a grind when shifting.
