Car suggestions...
Well I must sell my Mustang and get something more "practical" . I am looking for a car that is fun to drive and roomy and good on gas (above 22mpg on highway). I was looking at a WRX STI, EVO VIII, Acura 3.2TL (98+), Nissan Maxima (98+)... Also debated a 2000+ Pontiac Sunfire and adding a turbo. What would you suggest? I would like to stay under $20k
Thanks |

Re: Car suggestions...
Let me tell you right now...you cannot get a STi or an Evo for under 20k...I wish that was true but it's not
A TL would be a good choice if you wanted luxury and the space...but I would stay away from it A Maxima would be a good balance of practical and some umpf I would stay clear of the Sunfire for sure... Other cars to consider: Mazdaspeed Protegé (4 doors, handles really well, and turbo 170HP, and looks great) Neon SRT4 (4 doors, decent handling, wicked fast, under 20k so you can get one new) E36 M3 (4 doors, amazing all around performer, luxury and space) |

Well, if you want something for the same price as the WRX but more utilitarian you can always consider the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. RWD, great handling and can do the 1/4 mile in the low 14s. Plus since it has a supercharged 3800, there is a nice aftermarket for it, be sure to install a tranny cooler though. The Maxima is a great car too. Also, for about the same price as a brand new Maxima you can get the Mazdaspeed6 that is coming out soon or if you shell out some more cash you can currently get the Legacy 2.5GT.

Re: Car suggestions...
the gtp is not RWD, its FWD, nor does it run low 14's in the quarter mile stock. they run 15.1's all day long since they are automatics.

Yea, I guess it is because the Bonneville is RWD I assumed the Grand Prix would be as well. And I admit me saying about it going into the 14s stock is stretching it. At least from the looks of it, it seems it is not too hard to put the GTP into those numbers though. At least you can admit it is allot cheaper then the Maxima for a bit less power.
