Re: Radio In Safe Mode

Is it displaying safe or is it dead? If you don't have the code you can only hope someone wrote it on the radio itself. Otherwise you have to get the serial # off the radio & the VIN of the car & take to VW. Most dealers now charge for the code.

I have the same problem as SKEETS44, except I'm lucky enough to have the unlock code. Now my problem is, how do you enter the code?
I tried using the hh:mm setting of the clock (as someone told me), but that doesn't do the trick. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Radio In Safe Mode

You press the seek & scan or mode & scan, depending on which radio you have, at the same time for a couple seconds. The display should then go to 1000. Each of the radio preset buttons #1-#4 control the digit in that place. Push the presets so that your code is displayed then press the seek & scan or mode & scan again. The radio should turn on.

Re: Radio In Safe Mode

took the radio out and found the code written on the radio itself... a different code than what was written in the owners manual...all okay but now I want to replace it with a cd player.
For $2. bought a program off ebay which lists hundreds of codes for many radios but not mine. They say the program covers 90% of most radios & I believe it.
If you need a code, email me and I'll see if it is listed.
