Engine stalls

What do think of a recently tuned engine that would run smoothly for 9-10 miles and then start spitting and sputtering to the point that with the accelerator pushed all the way down, it would stalls as if not getting any gas? Everthing is new from the gas tank to the fuel line to the carb, points, dist cap, wires, plugs. It ran great for the 9-10 miles (65-70mph). After letting the car sit overnight, the same thing happened. Runs great for awhile and as if it reaches a point, starts the stalling again. Any suggestions?

is the fuel pump in good shape? i've heard of them not being able to keep up the fuel flow.

Make sure you double check all your fuel lines that they dont have any kinks in them. Also if you have your fuel line too close to something hot like the engine or headers it could be a vapor lock problem especially if it only happens 10miles after you start driving it. just some suggestions. Let us know what you find and good luck

Sounds like a choke problem to me. Too much fuel will stall the engine. Engine warms up, but the choke thinks it still needs extra gas. Check the automatic choke settings and confirm that it's operating correctly.

If it turns out to be the choke, check the oil to make sure the excess fuel didn't dilute the oil. That would most certainly destroy the engine.
