Question Does ANYONE know???

I purchased a 1999 VW Passat V6 used through a dealer. 69,000 miles on it when i bought it, now i am closing in on 90K. I have had to get teh tire axel heads replaced which cost me nearly $500. Now the major problem, recently i started leaking oil, i took it to a very reputable mechanic who works on numerous VW's, he replaced the Valve Cover Gasket, new serpentine belt (not related to the leak), and an OLF, the cost was 257.07, which i was happy to pay, if the smoking would stop. He said there was alot of oil on the manifold, so the smoking may take a day to stop. 3 days later and still smoking, i also noticed that i needed to add a quart of oil. I took it back to him and he checked the gasket seals, also replaced the valve cover gasket that he put on 3 days earlier. Still leaking! He said my only option may be to have the engine pulled and resealed! I cannot see that being needed when the car is only 5 years old. SO i sucked it up and figured i would deal with it later, Now smoke is coming into the car when the vents are open, A horid oil smell. I was driving my car back from class just today and i noticed the same oil leak because of the smoking, then i lost power, i was pressing the throttle and it just didnt want to move, then it accelerated, i turned the corner and lost all power, i put the car into drive, started it again, it started totally normal and then i went to put it in drive and it totally shut off.Now i try to turn the car on , it does normally, go to put it in gear and it shuts off. It was towed straight back to the guy for a fourth visit in 2 weeks!!!! Does anyone know what is going on>????? Please help, I will be greatful!!!!!
